With the help of the BIMrx MEP - Custom Elbow command, the user can define the direction and an extended length of an elbow when selecting an open-ended duct, pipe or conduit.  The command will draw an elbow at the unconnected end closest to your mouse-click. This command will work in 2D and 3D views.

In Revit:

  • In the ribbon, navigate to the BIMrx tab >> BIMrx MEP panel >> Custom Elbow command:

The Custom Elbow Settings dialog box pops up:

  • Select an Extension Length - Define the dimension length from the center of the selected run to the open endpoint of the newly created run coming from the elbow.
  • Select Position to Use - Define the direction in which the elbow is to follow from the selected endpoint.
  • Click OK.
  • Select an open-ended duct, pipe or conduit to draw an elbow with these Custom Elbow Settings.

The command will draw an elbow at the unconnected end closest to your mouse-click at the length and direction you defined.
